This quote has been on my fridge for years... “This is why we need to travel. If we don’t offer ourselves to the unknown, our senses dull. Our world becomes small and we lose our sense of wonder. Our eyes don’t lift to the horizon; our ears don’t hear the sounds around us. The edge is off our experience, and we pass our days in a routine that is both comfortable and limiting. We wake up one day and find that we have lost our dreams in order to protect our days." Letters to My Son by Kent Nerburn.
When first informing people that I was moving to New Zealand, most often the first question I'd get (after the shocking revelation that I was going alone *gasp!) was, "Why New Zealand?" I didn't really have too many answers as I had never been to the country before, but most often I would reply with something along the lines that I had heard it was beautiful, I was accepted for a Working Holiday Visa and... well.. why not? Now that I've been living here and have traveled the country extensively, however, I feel I can truly and adequately answer this question (and give you my photos to prove it!). If you are pondering, "Why New Zealand?", you have come to the right place. Read on my friends, read on. So, why would you go to New Zealand? I'll give you 22 reasons...
Watching this video fills me with so much excitement, wonder and gratitude. The creator is Trey Ratcliff at www.stuckincustoms.com who made this after moving to New Zealand. I can't believe I'm going to be living there! The adventure begins in 30 days! |
